Use wall assemblies rather than one gypsum-area multiplier
Partition plans are reconciled with wall-type details, reflected ceiling plans and sections. Each assembly keeps its length, height, number of faces and number of board layers. A wall with two layers on each side is not equivalent to one layer on one face; those inputs must remain visible before board area is summarized.
Openings, shaft walls, high partitions, bulkheads and transitions are reviewed as separate conditions. We record whether partitions stop at the ceiling or extend to structure. Stud gauge, spacing and deflection details follow the supplied design. Labor pricing should identify work height, finish level, access and phasing; it should not be derived from board area alone.
Scope interfaces to settle before pricing
- Distinguish light-gauge nonstructural partitions from engineered structural framing.
- Confirm whether acoustic ceilings, firestopping, painting and access panels are assigned to this package.
- Separate net board area from sheet conversion, cutting losses and ordering allowances.
